This information is provided for organisations that have installed the FitPro™ Ultra software on multiple computers. This software incurs no charges, and users are free to have multiple instances of the program. In some organizational setups, a single Portacount is shared among various departments, prompting each fit tester to utilize their personal laptops for fit testing. This type of setup raises a crucial question about the fate of the collected fit test data.
By default, the FitPro™ Ultra software establishes a local SQLite® database on the user’s computer, for recording and storing fit test data. This data resides locally on the computer, with the option for backup records to be stored on the facility’s network if desired. The data is not stored by default in a cloud, which means that TSI Incorporated (TSI) lacks remote access to the database. If the database is lost due to a hardware failure, the data may be lost if it has not been backed up.
Alternatively, the FitPro™ Ultra software offers the option to configure it to utilize an organization’s MS SQL Server database, overseen by the organization’s IT personnel. Details on this configuration can be found in the attached appendix. This configuration enables multiple instances of FitPro™ Ultra software to securely and robustly share a single database. Please follow this link for step-by-step instructions on how to set this up: How to merge existing FitPro™ Ultra databases
When it comes to security, encryption, and login credentials, it’s worth noting that neither TSI nor the FitPro™ Ultra software exert control over these aspects on the user’s computer or tablet. The security and data encryption settings are entirely managed through standard Windows® account settings. Therefore, it becomes the user’s responsibility to configure the tablet or laptop to align with organizational requirements.
